In the sun-kissed streets of Curacao, a new dawn of opportunity emerged on June 12, 2020, with the founding of Foundation CJM Academy. Mr. Christopher Middelhof, ignited this flame of hope with a shared vision to empower and provide opportunities for those seeking a second chance through education. Christopher, with a background in education, and together with business partner Manisha Bhagwan, a passionate advocate for social justice and beauty expert, combined their skills and determination to create a haven where anyone, regardless of their past or circumstances, could find a path to success. With Foundation CJM Academy, they aimed to break down barriers and unlock the potential of every individual in Curacao which has also expanded all over the Caribbean. As the Academy’s doors opened, it became a beacon of hope, offering a diverse range of courses and programs tailored to meet the needs of the community, and inspiring countless individuals to pursue their dreams.

  • Fundashon CJM Academy has also undergone Quality Audit from CPION in order to receive registration and recognition from CRKBO (Het Centraal Register Kort Beroepsonderwijs (CRKBO) in Holland.

Program Policy at CJM Academy:

  1. When students and or companies purchase a course or program, no refund will be given back. All Sales are final. Depending on each case, students might receive a credit to use for other courses or programs provided by CJM Academy.
  2. After the course has been provided in the student portal, 2 days after successful course completion, the course will be taken out of the student portal.
  3. The students will have two chances to pass the course exam, if student did not pass, there will be a small administration fee for each try afterwards.
  4. All course lectures are and remains property of CJM Academy and cannot be used to others during or after completion of module.
  5. All online exams must be completed with a successful score of 80% or higher in order to complete the module or program successfully. If not pass successfully, student will not receive certificate and cannot use this as a recognition on personal CV for attending only.
  6. CJM Academy has the right at all times to stop a student from attending CJM Academy online and or on-site if student is in violation of any of the mentioned rules and policies.
  7. Students will receive 14 days of Grace time to receive refund if student has not yet started the course. Once student has started the course, no refund will be applicable.

Certification & Transcript

  • Where applicable, on successful completion of the course, the non-degree student will receive a certificate.
  • The website specifies the certificate for which the non-degree student is eligible.
  • Student following a long term program, will also receive an official transcript.
  • A certificate will only be issued once and copy of transcript can be requested for an additional $50 fee.
Immigration
 
CJM Academy provides short- and long-term training programs to students. In case student is taking a long-term program, student might request proof of attending CJM Academy. However, CJM Academy waives and cannot guarantee that proof of attending CJM Academy will allow you to apply for residency permits, or any type of permits at immigration by Law of Curacao, Bonaire or Aruba. CJM Academy, can only provide you with a written letter, that states you are attending one of CJM’s Training programs. Therefore, CJM Academy waives all liability and responsibility in such matter.
 
 

Payment Plan Rules

CJM Academy provides equal opportunity to everyone. Therefore, payments plans are available based on an approved payment plan by CJM Academy administration. All payments plans will start on the date of first deposit, and next payments needs to continue on the same date the following month. If students fail to comply, student portal will be locked, and will be given access again once the next payments have been made.  

  • If your portal has been blocked because of late payment, there will be an additional $50 / ANG 88.50 fee to have it re-open for you within less then 6 months
  • If you are above 6 months, it will $100 / ANG 177 for every year your portal remains closed.
  • If after 14 days, the student has not reacted with an approved agreement with CJM office administration, the student will then lose all rights to all access and courses done.

Exemptions

We understand that learning doesn’t always fit neatly into standard procedures. That’s why we’ve designed our exemption policy to accommodate your unique circumstances while still ensuring you have access to valuable learning opportunities.

If you believe you may qualify for an exemption from a particular module of a specific program, please follow these steps:

  1. Assessment: Assess whether your situation meets the criteria for exemption outlined in the policy document.
  2. Justification: Provide a brief justification explaining why you believe you should be exempt from the learning requirement. This could include previous relevant experience, certifications, or other learning achievements.
  3. Meeting: Request an exemption meeting with our office, to go over your exemption request.
  4. Approval: Your request will be reviewed by the CJM Academy team, and you will be notified of the decision within 48 hours.
  5. Alternative Learning: If your exemption is granted, you may be required to undertake alternative learning or provide evidence of ongoing skill development in the area covered by the exempted course.

Conditions Under Which a Course May Not Be Offered

  1. Low Demand: If there is insufficient interest or enrollment numbers for a particular course, it may not be offered in a given period.
  2. Resource Constraints: Limited availability of instructors, training materials, or facilities may prevent the offering of certain courses.
  3. Outdated Content: Courses with content that is deemed outdated or irrelevant to current business needs may not be offered, as CJM Academy reviews every 6 months content provided to students.
  4. Lack of Accreditation: Courses that do not meet accreditation standards or industry requirements may not be offered.
  5. Market Changes: Changes in market trends, technologies, or regulations may render certain courses obsolete or less relevant, leading to their non-offering.
  6. Legal or Compliance Issues: Courses that do not comply with legal requirements or internal policies, such as those related to diversity, ethics, or safety, may not be offered.
  7. Feedback and Evaluation: Courses that consistently receive poor feedback or evaluation from participants may be revised or discontinued.
  8. Logistical Challenges: Courses that present logistical challenges, such as scheduling conflicts or geographic limitations, may not be feasible to offer.

Please note that these conditions are subject to review and may vary depending on specific circumstances and CJM Academy organizational needs.

CJM Academy Examination Framework 

  • Objective: Assess knowledge and skills acquired.
  • Format: Combination of written tests, practical assessments, and projects.
  • Duration: Set according to course complexity.
  • Passing Criteria: Minimum passing score of 80% is required to pass exams.
  • Feedback: Provided performance strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Confidentiality: Participant information is handled confidentially.
  • Fairness: Process free from bias, ensuring equal opportunities.
  • Validity: Questions designed to accurately assess learning outcomes.
  • Security: Measures to prevent cheating.
  • Accommodations: Provided for participants with special needs on request.
  • Appeals Process: Transparent process for result appeals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Framework regularly reviewed and updated.

If there is a violation of this rule, legal actions will be taken against the student or third-party user and are confined to legal financial damage.

Complaint Policy:

  1. Students who wish to appeal their exam score must submit a written appeal within 5 business days of receiving their exam results. Please send complain through email at curacaocjm@gmail.com.
  2. The written appeal must include the student’s name, student ID number, the exam in question, the specific grounds for the appeal, and any supporting documentation.
  3. The appeal will be reviewed by the appropriate faculty member or academic department within 10 business days of receipt. If more time is needed to study the complaint, the participant should be informed within the time period set, stating the reasons for the delay. The institute must indicate when it expects to come to a conclusion and inform the participant.
  4. The decision of the faculty member or academic department regarding the appeal is final. If you do not agree, you can pursue to contact Caribbean mediator association, the appeal body’s verdict is binding for the institute; the institute is to take any measures required and to do so promptly.
  5. Students will be notified of the outcome of their appeal in writing within 3 business days of the decision.
  6.  All appeals and or complaints will be handled with confidentiality and in accordance with CJM Academy policies and procedures.
  7. Complaints and their handling are recorded; these records are kept for a year.

Privacy Policy of CJM Academy

We do not share any information provided to us with third parties. You can turn off the use of cookies at any time by changing your specific browser settings. We also use Google Analytics and Facebook Pixels for monitoring our website performance and to compile aggregate data to understand our users’ behaviors and preferences. 

All Trainers are responsible for holding every student’s data in confidence and sharing it only with necessary parties or those authorized by the student.

We track aggregated log-in data for statistical purposes and we also track individual log-in data for operational purposes. This information is not shared with any third party. This information is tracked to ensure you are participating in the training programs to which you are registered, and this information is shared with your trainers. We also share with your trainers any homework, quiz, the assessment you submit via this site as well as other achievements with CJM Academy.

We monitor the personal profiles of our students as well as communications on the internal group chat or information forums we manage. We encourage diversity of opinion but expect respect exchange at all times. No advertisement is allowed on the personal profile, groups, or forums unless CJM Academy has provided you with written permission. You may disclose your employer’s name on your profile and on the footer of your signature. You may also share your contact information. Your contact information may include in one sentence a description of your activities. We reserve the right to terminate access without prior notice if in our opinion your communications have violated these rules.

We collect our students’ and lecturers’ email addresses. These email addresses are shared with your lecturers and trainers of CJM Academy. We do not sell or give away your email address to additional third parties. You can always unsubscribe from our email list for non-study-related emails and we will promptly remove your name.

If you feel we have violated your privacy please notify us promptly so we may take measures to rectify any issue.
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy at any time without further notice.
